The Greek View of Working for Someone Else

In Xenophon's memorabilia, which was one of the Socratic dialogues, we get some sense of the Greek view of working for somebody else. We can also see this view ringing through in a speech of Isaius,. In part of the speech he says, quote, dig eigenus stripped us of some of our property because he was stronger than we were. So there's the sense that there is a degree of social degradation and work for somebody else and being paid for it.
