How to Pursue a Career in Journalism

Many journalists start off as interns or entry-level reporters. It typically helps to have a bachelor's degree, though it doesn't need to be in journalism. For certain roles, such as legal or financial reporting, employers often see job candidates with some level of subject matter expertise. Getting your first piece published is often the hardest step.
