Pre commit scanning can be used to find secrets in code. It's not an exact science either, even gidhub isn't perfect. You need a fairly homogeneous development environment to enforce that exactly its got to be pretty consistent. Some of those are proactive, where you can scan theyr coming in and not let it fully commit if there is a secret. Other's oure hay, i scann once a day to see if anybody committed a secret.
