How to Reduce the Cost of Robotics?

I don't know why robots are still so expensive perhaps it's the hardware is not so expensive these days. I think that's probably where the expense is if you can afford to have a few research engineers for years in your lab then you can probably do useful things with physical robots. But if you've just got a robot and no support for it then it will probably just gather dust. It gets a big bunch of money they buy the robot and then nobody knows how to use it or the person who knows how to used it leaves, which means there won't be any robotics at all.
