Physiology, Behavior, and the Endocrine System
Behavior is an aspect of metabolic control, basic physiological control that all living animals engage in. It's about maintaining your internal state in a desirable state where you have the nutrients you need and you're not being eaten. And so for example, to control certain nutrients or certain compounds within a cell, there's certain chemical pathways that can do that. But to control your nutrient state, you could also just move around in the world. Like if you're in a place where there isn't a lot of some nutrient that you need, well, just move around,. You'll find yourself with more of whatever it is that you need.
