How to Overcome Writers Block

Writer's block is a thing, but it's part of the job. Hemingway advised us to overcome writer's block by writing one true sentence. Just write down what you know to be true and once you've done that, write another. You're not thinking about themes or character or will the public like it? Will my spouse like it when I show it to them? Do not let your internal editor muck you up because writing and editing are two separate processes. Don't conflate them. So write one true sentence in real time. This is a great way to direct your journaling practice if you have one.
