The Story of a Moslem's Conversion
A student at the abbe seminary had a remarkable experience. He seemed to be addressing marinite priests and monks, preaching free salvation in christ. The next morning he had not the slightest recollection of what had occurred. Now, one really interesting thing that i had no idea existed, was that moslems themselves have also, like roman catholics, worshipped relics. In 18 62, the city of beyrout received from the sultan three hairs from the beard of the prophet mohammed, to be placed in one of the mosques. And this was all done to counteract the rapidly increasing european and christian influence in beyrout.
