The Importance of Invisible Editing
When you do the first cut of a scene before the director sees it, do you try and put as much as he shot in it? Or do you just say, I'm going to do it the way I think it should be? I do both. It's a strange situation when you're doing the shoot to give everything the benefit of the doubt,. You know, great moats surrounding every word of dialogue. But at the first instinct, you know, try and give everything thebenefit of the doubt. Do you think that the best editing is invisible? "You can't get more invisible than that"
