Charles Schultz was one of the most successful comics in history. His contract stipulated that when he couldn't draw anymore, the strip would stop. It earned its creator over a billion dollars in his lifetime. He died on February 12, 2000, aged 77. The final Peanuts cartoon appeared on February 13, the next day.
