When Should We Refer Patients to Nephrology?
The general rule is if your GFR is less than 30, these patients absolutely need to have a nephrologist as part of their care. This is kind of a bundle of abnormalities that evolve typically later in the course. If you've got protein area greater than 300 milligrams specifically albuminearia or albumin to create new ratio, there's a value in engaging with nephrologists. It may be a one-point check-in rather than a longitudinal follow-up.
