How Did You Learn Spanish?

How did you learn Spanish without subtitles? I downloaded a 5,000 word on key deck. And it had one English word for every Spanish word. No audio, no nothing. So this is like not what I recommend. But I just blasted through that those 5,000 words in like two months. Then I went raw after that and with no lookups and went to fluency like that.
