The Power of Personality in Children's Books
The best stories are universal in terms of their resonance and yet can be personalized, or the stories are very, very individualized. So they speak to something that's universal so I, you know, I love the author Michael Lewis, who we wrote moneyball and liars poker and he's had this incredible podcast. And then a my take from this wonderful conversation is not to be afraid to read as many children's books as I can, which we teach our students,. Not to be afraid not to copy them but to riff on them a little bit.
