Migrant Workers - How Long Does It Take to Find a Job?
As the cova 19 pandemic enters its third year, finding a job becomes more challenging. For elderly migrant workers, work opportunities are less than half compared to before the pandemic. Employers and migrant workers rarely sign labor contracts in practice which means they haven't established formal labor relations. Although migrant workers can file a lawsuit when their rights and interests are infringed, they often settle out of court because of weak awareness of rights protection and the high cost of the lawsuit. After decades of drifting from city to city, returning home has become the only option for some elderly migrant workers.
