The vast majority of those who have crossed illegally across the channel, when they do get a chance to make their case, about 75%, are found to be genuine refugees. They are generally fleeing war, terror, devastation and prejudice against the sexuality in the country of origin. I think they're, I have compassion for them, and I think what we need is safe and legal routes. The way you stop the boats isn't by just saying we're stopping the boats and deporting everybody. It's by having safe andLegal routes so that genuine refugees who have a real case for why Britain should be the country they come to.
