There's a significant reason to worry about post renal AKI in this otherwise inflamed patient. I would not be surprised if this is a complicated urinary tract infection from an obstructed Foley catheter. The symptoms, the urinary symptoms that are quite specific for catheters such as UTI, just work your way up that catheter. It includes obstruction. So one way to link everything together is that this guy actually has a catheter associated UTI leading to the urinary tract obstruction as opposed to an obstruction leading to UTI.
