CHAPTER

Pathological Science in Nutrition and Obesity Research

The idea that a mediterranean diet is safer than a ketogenic diet comes from what some islanders were eating in the decade post world war too. The researchers have pretty much stopped doing rigorous tests, because they're expensive and planned for years in advance to get them funding. So rather than testing their hypotheses, they've just chosen to assume that their hypotheses are probably true. And it's sort of the worst tendencies in science, and it's what the rigorous science argues you cannot ever do - not to just assume that what we think is true is so we have problems throughout the nutritian and obesity world.
