Are There Any Greenhouse Gas Emissions From Ammonia Fertilizers?

There are emissions both from the production of the product, in this case, the making of ammonia. We burn fossil fuels, either coal or natural gas to produce ammonia in the Haber-Bosh process. There's also more emissions from the application of the product when you put fertilizer in the ground. The other big way that ammonia creates greenhouse gas emissions as you use it is that it converts into N2O which is a really important non-CO2 greenhouse gas.
