I think it's really important to establish a framework and that's what I try to do in my research is to look at tech from the broadest possible view uh big picture right so if we're looking at the question of any sort of policy that we need to make any sort of designing of society at this point we have to account obviously for the environment. There are different versions of the environmental crisis and one of them has what you might call carbon tunnel vision and then we can just save society but there's another branch of scientific inquiry which mixes in with policy research called de-growth.
