Babur's Suzerainty in the Indian Subcontinent
The Islam specifically prohibits enslaving of the Muslims. A Muslim simply cannot enslave another Muslim. Babur justified these bizarre actions by accusing the people of Bajar of having un-Islamic practices and customs. The next day, the Sultan of Swat in northern Pakistan came to pay homage to Babur as a vassal. It would be another six years before Babur attempted another invasion of India.
