"I think I'm incredibly lucky. There are so many things I love doing, and I got to write comics," says the comic book writer. "There were places that were literally unexplored in making Sandman." He adds: 'Sometimes I was doing clever, brilliant things, and sometimes I was just making an idiot of myself' You began your career as a freelance journalist before moving on to become one of America's most successful cartoonists.
