Magic the Gathering in a Socialist Economy
JT: If we got rid of the profit motive, there is no reason that magic, the gathering and other games couldn't be more accessible. So something as even as one could say commodified as the fashion or the fashion industry,. Even in its name, it kind of eludes that it follows trends or whatever the fuck. Once it is removed from the idol or drives the vision of it as a status symbol, it is given an absolutely new field in which it can thrive. And I think that would be huge benefit to most people just because most people don't want to spend thousands of dollars to build the perfect Magic deck.
