Mata Hari's career as a spy had officially ended after these intercepted telegrams were decoded and passed along to Georges Ladoux The game had ended for Mata Hari After her short adventure in Madrid, Mata Hari returned to Paris in early January 1917. She found that she was having a hard time accessing money and making contact with old friends. A few weeks later on February 13th, a group of French police officers entered Mata Hari’s room at the Palais Alize Hotel They had with them a warrant for her arrest Accusing her of quote espionage, attempted espionage
