What Is Qualia?
"After 3000 years, we made very little progress," he says. "I have many neuroscientists who are friends and I asked them about this and talk about pessimistic. They all are like, oh my God, we have no idea about qualia." Qualia is some external stimulus that evokes feelings in us. It's not only nice to have, it's need to have if you want to program artificial intelligence that can become sentient.
