The Thousand Cuts of Being an Apple Developer

I think what was the episode called the thousand cuts of being an Apple developer. Somebody like David Smith working on his own and being very clever and trying lots of things has a much better chance of this. I feel like for a lot of people I know it's very much like I am doing this in spite of Apple not because of them. Yes I do not feel like they are looking out for my best interest.
