Silver Street: The Breakthrough Film of 1976
The breakout film, and there were a number of different movies like car car wash, but the breakout film is 1976's Silver Street. After that rejection, Pryor had a sort of personal breakdown. Once again, rebuilt his career, hired new management with the idea of I want to be well, as Paul Schrader said in the documentary, he wanted to be not just the biggest star, but also the blackest star. It's different than the sort of for one of a better term, assimilationist thing that Bill Cosby did in his career.
