The Music Isn't What's Important

Fiction seems to have some ability to allow us to feel or understand ourselves. I think it's easier to see why we like novels and art forms that involve language in that way. It must be an important thing for humans to be able to imagine other worlds. That's, that's how we work. We're good at visualizing worlds that don't exist. You can see with novels where somebody sets out, here's a world where these people do this kind of thing,. And all this stuff happens. All of those things seem to be very arbitrary by comparison to the stuff that happens in novels. But my argument is that actually, they're not arbitrary at all.
