i think we do have a moral obligation to help those who cannot help themselves. But the problem with the entitlement state is not the poor, it's middle entitlements. Once you create these entitlements, there's just no taking them away. And so while no one wants to be the hard hearted guy who takes away anybody's benefits, that doesn't mean people won't end up paying for what they're entitled to. The reality is can't simply run up more debt and never face a reckoning.
