The Effects of Ultrasound Guidance on IJ Insertion
There was no need to routinely replace intervascular catheters that were inserted, particularly in the femoral site during off hours. They did find a higher catheter tip colonization risk in femoral inserted catheters, but not an increase in the BSI risk with that insertion.
