The Dirty Epi Drip

The "dirty epi drip" was invented by Ruben Strayer, says Dr. Aaron Carroll. The idea is to use a leader bag of saline with either 1 milligram or 10ccs of epinephrine in it. It's very difficult to get precise dosage adjustments using this method, he says. But the real problem I have with this concept is if you set this drip up with the patient's arm in one position and count it out, oh, I'm doing two drops a second.
