What Is Your Body?
Every individual animal, from humans to spiders to shrimp, is limited by their own umwelt or their sensory bubble. This makes it really hard to put ourselves in the shoes of another living organism and imagine the world that they experience. A squid does have a sense of pain very similar to our but its body becomes hyper-sensitive if it injures its arm. It's much better for an animal to have this general sense of injury than i have so I'm more likely to understand when I've been injured on my back near the fin.
