Managing Machine Learning Systems in Production
The stochastic parrot is a machine-learning system that learns to predict the outcomes of its own predictions. In one example, it was recommending tech meetup events to people based on their gender rather than what they were actually doing. The model then had to be adjusted after learning more about women and stopped recommending them in general. This kind of feedback loops are very common when you put these systems into production.
