Is There a Need for More Student-Centered Learning?
I'm really glad we're having this discussion because as I mentioned, things from these neighbourhoods are the ones that I'm most interested in working with and supporting. The schools that these kids go to tend to be a lot more punitive and teacher-centered in terms of the learning style. And it's all about trying to give them opportunities and expose them to things that they wouldn't have in their homes. If you brought all these different kids from different backgrounds together, then they'd all have the chance to kind of learn from each other and it wouldn't be so segregated. But there are plenty of suburbs that are a long way away from affluent parts of town. It doesn't seem to me
