Is the Essential Nature of Consciousness Introspectively?

Philip says he doesn't think we have access introspectively to the essenti nature of our conscious state. He argues that revelation has to show you that it's essentially representational. But how much digressing and rambling is too much? We're serious philosophers, so we should be arguing - Philip.
