Being With Starts With a Nonverbal Being With

There is a dominance in the right side of the brain for two big things, maybe three big things that are relevant here. Nonverbal communication, eye contact, facial expression, tone of voice, posture, your gestures,. The timing of what you say, the intensity of what yousay. And autobiographical memory, the third dominant process on the right side is there, the self in time. So when you're really tuning into someone nonverbally, feeling the feelings that arise from the body and getting a sense of this for this autobiographical moment in this child's life, it's a real right hemisphere moment as a parent.
