The Law of Jealousy in Numbers, Chapter Five
As the woman caught in adultery was brought to him, the king's response is sheer terror. Some translations give this as his limbs giving way and his knees knocked together. The reference to his loins being loosed suggests that he involuntarily deficates himself. This would have been a fulfilment of isaiah, chapter forty five, verse one. We might also recognize behind this account some allusions back to the ritual of the law of jealousy in numbers,.
