Golf and those who played it had no place in a society that was moving inexorably toward socialism. Nightpaul: Guiana resembled the crash landing site of the whole third world revolution, after it moved on from its demands for inclusion in the developed world to racial narcisism. The government was corrupt. Virtually any one could be compromised. And so black power meant something very different over there then it meant the united states.
