In a normal bull and bear market cycle bear markets can last anywhere between nine and twelve months after a three to four year bull market cycle. The NASDAQ certainly didn't meet that textbook definition of a 20% decline or more but it was a long period of time just like you mentioned. Cisco CSCO fell 54% off its peak back in 94 and it actually deserved the time to rest and digest those gains from that I believe it was October 1990 when we hit a double bottom breakout signature double bottom base beautiful move excellent fundamentals at a time.
