A spokesperson for Vanity Fair and the photographer Annie Leibovitz said that Miley's parents and minders were on the set all day. The quote reads, "'Since the photo is taken digitally, they saw it on the shoot and everyone thought it was a beautiful and natural portrait of Miley' I think just as a blanket rule, if you're asking a teenager to strip off their clothing and cover themselves as something, you've crossed a line," she added. Interestingly, Miley came out 10 years after the incident and retracted her initial apology.
