If you're a pure free market, you should be in favor of bans on non-compete. The con to banning these agreements is really the trade secrets that the companies are concerned about. But our whole country has been built on allowing innovation to freely move around companies. So maybe there's a good compromise there where you can protect those secrets for a certain time.
