Neanderthal tools show us that Neanderthals were more advanced than we often give them credit for. Archaeologists and primatologists have observed other primates like chimps and bonobos making tools in the wild, but they lack some important skills. But Leo mentioned studying other living species with similar brain sizes to find out how Neanderthals might have made tools. We can actually know that they did these things. These tools really give us a picture into the past.
