What Is Islamism?
Islamism is a term used to describe any form of violent, radical islam. The word has become associated with religious fanaticism since 9/11. Most islamists believe in peaceful mobilization to pursue political change but some justify the use of extreme violence such as terrorist attacks. Well known extremist groups include boko haram, alkaida, the islamic state and the taliban.
