Is the Art Form a Set of Rules?
I think so. These are very much like, a constellation of ideas and very much always am used by the extent in which, you know, they can be taught. And also, I consider, as you mentioned, this is not just about art, but about the humans and about actions. You know, there's no question that in a certain sense, a genre is a, is a set of rules, right? Otherwise it ends up not being recognizable as a genre. The point I would want to make is that when a artwork takes up a genre in order to sort of turn it into its own conditions of possibility, what counts as the genre?"
