The writers are the nerdy ones. They're the ones who don't fit in at the parties. And this was the whole point of the Raymond Chandler piece. Hollywood is a place for showmen. Writers don't tend to be showmen. Some can be showmen and Aaron Sorkin is a showman. There are these people who have immense writing talent that can be out there and love to explain their point of view on the world. But by and large, the writers, you know, they're the bastard stepchildren of the industry, right? The quality declined a lot because they now had to find new dynamics and it didn't work.
