The main inspirations behind your approach to revolution are Karl Marx and Walter Benjamin. But as you point out, they have very different conceptions of how revolution relates to historical time. So this is the reason for which I decided to start my book with a chapter on revolutions as the locomotives of history. This is famous Marx's metaphor of revolution. And I think that this is more than a metaphor because it's a metaphor that summarizes, synthesizes a worldview,. A certain view of history, a certain theory of history.
