In people with high blood pressure, there's an response mediated by both tea cells and macrophases that injures the kidney. And it's that injury that then leads to a parent retention of sodium. So we think that there may be external stimuli that initially cause a decrease in blood flow to the kidney like a sympathetic nervous system response. You can do it transiently by giving medicines or drugs that can cause a constriction of blood vessels.
