The Rivers of India - The Opening Shot
I got up at pre-dawn and we shot the sunrise, starting looking down low. And very slowly panning up to see the whole of this golden lake shimmering in the sunlight. That's how the picture opens. There have been other occasions where I thought about how the film was going to open. When did he ask me to see Gandhi? And I went to India. I had six weeks of prep there.
