The Blood of Christ Was Shed

The scriptures frequently talk about bloodshed, beginning in genesis chapter nine. There are more than forty times in scripture where it's explicit that shedding blood equals death. When jesus talks about the blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many, he is explicitly talking about the blood he will shed on the cross death. Joseph smith equated shedding blood and murder.
