Dana Joya: Do you know Seneca? Seneca's the Roman Stoic writer. He was as well known for his tragedies, really, as for his philosophical essays and letters. A friend of mine has just come out with a new translation of one of Seneca's tragedies. It's called the Madness of Hercules. In Latin that title is Hercules Furens. And this is a play and an author who profoundly influenced European drama,. I mean Spanish, Italian, French, and English.
