The Permian Natural Gas Rate Count Is Down 5% Year Over Year
The natural gas rate count as of August 4th and this is according to Baker Hughes data, it was down to 128. So that's 20% below year ago levels. Obviously we're seeing a huge decline, 36% down year over year in the Haynesville. Marcellus is also down about 13%. And interestingly, the Permian is only down 5%. Of course, at the heart of the decline is prices.
