In 1997, theoretical physicist Matt Viscer came out with a paper saying that if you set up multiple wormholes in this way, basically one wormhole out, one wormhole back, it certainly looks like according to all the math I've done. And no one's been able to disprove it. This isn't an active area of research since it's so ridiculously impossible or improbable to happen. Although this model for now looks like it works, we don't understand enough about quantum gravity to know why this is wrong.
